PSA Names John Sullivan New Executive Director

Washington, DC — Partnership for a Secure America (PSA) proudly welcomes John Sullivan as its new Executive Director. Mr. Sullivan has deep expertise with PSA’s program having previously served as the Director of Programs and a Congressional Relations Associate.

A native of Falls Church, Virginia, Mr. Sullivan received his B.A. from the Catholic University of America. Before joining PSA, he was a Professional Staff Member with the House Homeland Security Committee working on the Emergency Preparedness, Response, and Communications Subcommittee. Mr. Sullivan was also a Deputy to the Member Service Director for the full committee and served as a Legislative Assistant & Clerk

Mr. Sullivan has been with PSA since April of 2019 where he played a substantial role in the design and execution of PSA programming. Specifically, Mr. Sullivan was one of the primary reasons that PSA was able to continue running its congressional programs through the COVID19 pandemic. During this time, he helped develop a new PSA program working with the State Department. We are very grateful both for the time and passion Mr. Sullivan has already dedicated to PSA and for his taking on the Executive Director role.

PSA is also grateful for the time and dedication of Curtis M. Silvers who is stepping out of his  role as Executive Director and into the role of Senior Advisor. Mr. Silvers played a crucial role in program development and operations in pursuit of PSA’s mission to advance bipartisan approaches to U.S. national security and foreign policy challenges. He will continue to bring seasoned experience to PSA’s operations and programming.

Mr. Silvers has over thirty-years’ experience analyzing Congress and creating lasting foundations of support among political, business, and other stakeholders. Earlier in his career Mr. Silvers served as the principal advisor to Senator Fred Thompson on all foreign policy, defense, and international trade issues. Prior to this, he was on the staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Mr. Silvers also worked at Bannerman and Associates, Inc. as a consultant to foreign governments, international educational institutions, and business organizations. He is a founding partner of the government relations consulting company Vanguard Government Strategies and served as Executive Vice President of an international trade NGO.

PSA is a nonprofit founded by former U.S. Representative Lee Hamilton (D-IN) and U.S. Senator Warren Rudman (R-NH) to advance bipartisanship on today’s critical national security and foreign policy challenges.
