Robert Sheldon - Board Member
Robert Sheldon is Senior Director of Public Policy & Strategy at CrowdStrike, where he leads corporate engagement on a variety of International and U.S. government policies, programs, and initiatives. In this capacity, he coordinates the company’s Election Security initiatives; serves as company representative to the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) and related partnerships; and oversees the Congressional Affairs practice.
Prior to joining the CrowdStrike team in 2017, Sheldon was policy director for emerging threats at Business Executives for National Security, a membership-driven think tank. From 2013 to 2014, he was a Mike Mansfield Fellow in Tokyo, where he worked to enhance U.S.-Japan bilateral cybersecurity cooperation. Earlier, Sheldon served as senior policy analyst for military and security affairs at the congressionally-mandated U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, where he led a team of analysts and focused on China's cybersecurity, telecommunications, and technology policies.
Concurrent to his role at CrowdStrike, Sheldon is an adjunct fellow with the Strategic Technologies Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and serves as an adjunct professorial lecturer on cybersecurity policy at American University. He holds an MA in Security Policy Studies from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and a BS in Computer Forensics from Champlain College.
